The Monkees – Daddy’s Song (1968)
If Nez was the tortured artist, Peter Tork the fake-Stephen Stills, and Micky the insufferable retard, then Davy was the heart of the gang (not to mention, the failed jocky). ANYWAY, the Monkees are underrated. RIP Davy.
I constructed this extreme close-up of Giada this evening (for one reason or another). Enlarge at yer own risk.
… Do all people have this many teeth in their mouths?
Pilot – Just A Smile (1974)
Some soccer-rock direct from couple of former Bay City Rollers, prod. by Alan Parsons. This predates Magic by a couple of months, and is just as solid in my humble estimation.
With one tourney in the books, I’m currently sitting directly in the center of our 20 person (!) fantasy fishing league. Heard of the rope-a-dope much?
“… So I met Paul, and next to him was Michael Jackson who was also up for an award. This was before he messed his face up. He was still… semi-human. Nice guy, down-to-earth, beautiful.”
– Kid Creole (August Darnell)
Kid Creole & The Coconuts – No Fish Today (slow edit) (1982)
Though this was arguably the most mellowed-out number in the Creole catalog already, I wanted to hear it dialed back a bit more. I think it sounds just peachy this way.
via Cave of Forgotten Dreams (alt. title Cave Dicks), Dir. by Werner Herzog (2011)
easily my favorite portion of the movie… get it?
Midi, Maxi & Efti – Bad Bad Boys
Looks like MIA left her cloning machine on again… or maybe more acurately, MIA had triplets with Steven Wright, and out popped this lively bunch.
